Abstract
Chris Camacho is a cybersecurity executive, entrepreneur, and operator with more than 25 years of experience defending global institutions and building high-growth security companies. His career spans frontline security operations, executive leadership, private-equity-backed scale, and company formation – giving him an uncommon perspective from both the buyer and builder sides of cybersecurity.
At Bank of America, Chris served as Senior Vice President of Global Information Security and was a senior cybersecurity executive focused on enterprise threat management. He led a large team across cyber defense, threat intelligence, incident response, vendor management, and coordination with internal business and technology leaders as well as external industry and government partners. He was also an active member of the FS-ISAC Threat Intelligence Committee, contributing to information sharing and collaboration across the financial sector. Earlier in his career, he served as an Information Security Officer at The World Bank.
Chris later joined Flashpoint, where he spent eight years helping transform a high-growth threat intelligence company into a scaled global security business. He served first as Chief Strategy Officer and later as Chief Revenue Officer, moving from corporate strategy into direct responsibility for growth and go-to-market execution. During his tenure, Flashpoint completed a majority investment by Audax Private Equity and acquired three companies to expand its intelligence and security platform. Chris helped lead the business to approximately $100 million in annual recurring revenue before leaving to co-found Abstract.
Today, Chris is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Abstract, a cybersecurity company rebuilding the data and security operations stack around a streaming-first, composable architecture. Abstract brings together security data pipelines, in-stream detections, SIEM capabilities, and AI-assisted security operations while giving enterprises greater control over their data, architecture, and cost. Chris helps lead company strategy, go-to-market execution, enterprise customer engagement, partnerships, and scale.
